What do I need to rent a trailer?

Rental Requirements:

Possess a valid Driver’s License and be at least 18 years of age.
Verify your tow vehicle's max tow rating can accommodate the weight of the haul and the curb weight of the trailer.
Possess valid auto insurance coverage.

Question 2

How does the payment work?

To reserve your trailer, we require a deposit to hold the trailer for the requested date and time.

All rentals must be paid in full at pickup.  Payment is made securely with a debit or credit card-we do not accept cash at pickup.

Your card will be charged for the deposit at the time of booking, and the remaining balance is due prior to your rental start date.

Do you have boat trailers?

We do not currently rent boat trailers.

Question 4

Do you rent utility trailers?

Accepted Answer

We do not currently rent utility trailers for heavy equipment.  The maximum total capacity of any of our trailers is 10,000 pounds.

Question 5

How do I know if my vehicle can tow the trailer?

Check your vehicle's owner's manual for towing capacity or contact us-we'll help confirm what size trailer is safe for your vehicle.

Are there any hidden fees?

Never.  Unlike big-box stores, we clearly list all costs up front.

Question 7

Do you provide tie-down straps or other accessories?

Accepted Answer

Yes, each trailer comes equipped with four straps.  More can be provided upon request.  We also include a spare tire, four-way tire iron and trailer aid in each trailer.

Some enclosed trailers have E-track and include additional accessories.

Question 8

Do you check the trailer before I leave?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely.  We'll inspect the trailer with you, make sure the lights and tires are in good condition, and help hook it up.

Question 9

Am I responsible for tolls, tickets or damage?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the renter is responsible for tolls, traffic tickets, and any damages incurred during the rental period.

Do you offer insurance to cover my rental?

Accepted Answer

Suncoast Trailer Rental does not provide insurance for rented trailers.  Your personal auto insurance policy may provide liability coverage while towing a trailer, but coverage for damage to the rented trailer can vary by policy.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider before your rental to confirm your coverage.

Renters are responsible for any damage to the trailer during the rental period.  For customers who would like additional protection, short-term rental insurance is available through third-party providers.
